The Spiti Valley is not just about Landscapes or Mountains. The Buddhist culture, friendly people are inter-oven bringing an sue generis experience.

The monasteries are not only sacred and abode of peace. It is also the place where light and shadow plays brings different mood. The inside quarters of Monasteries are normally lit by natural lights through windows and doors. The artificial lights are not often used.

The natural light has a character and quality to bring many shades of emotions, depending on the time of the day and season.

In the Dhankar Monastery, the hall was lit by natural light from windows and doors. The quality of the light was mesmerizing the space and yet a prayer hall without a human presence looked void and dull. A monk came to rescue. He obliged to our request for a pose.
